Hi — I'm Daniel. I noticed there wasn't a single good free tool for comparing take-home pay across different countries. So I built one. Now it covers 111 countries with rates verified against official tax authority sources.
I built CountryTaxCalc after spending too much time trying to answer a simple question: what does the same salary actually look like net in different countries? The tools I found were either outdated, country-specific, hidden behind paywalls, or produced numbers I couldn't trace back to an official source.
So I built the tool that didn't exist — free, no sign-up, real statutory rates, multiple countries side by side. Every rate comes from the official government tax authority for that country: the IRS, HMRC, BZSt, CRA, ATO, and equivalents across 111+ jurisdictions. No third-party aggregators, no Wikipedia, no guesswork.
I review and update all rates at least annually — most countries in January when tax years reset, UK and Ireland in April after the Budget. If a rate changes mid-year, I update within 14 days of the announcement.
If a bracket looks wrong or a country is missing, email me — I read every message and take corrections seriously.
Four things we commit to, in plain language. If we ever stop doing any of them, this page gets updated first.
Switch between the US, Germany, Singapore, and 108 other jurisdictions without learning a new tool each time. Consistent inputs, consistent outputs.
See what the same salary looks like net in Lisbon vs. Dubai vs. Zürich — with the deductions, credits, and social charges each country actually applies.
Rates and brackets come from IRS, HMRC, BZSt, CRA, ATO publications — never from third-party aggregators. Every figure can be traced to its source.
No login, no paywall, no email capture. The site is free to use and that is the whole point.
Every rate, bracket and allowance is researched against the publishing tax authority and manually re-verified each tax year. CountryTaxCalc is not a substitute for a qualified tax advisor.
Plus 99 additional tax authorities across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. Each country page lists the specific publications used.
Calculations are estimates based on publicly available tax laws and do not account for your individual circumstances, specific deductions, treaties, or regional variations. Always consult a qualified tax professional or the relevant tax authority before making financial or relocation decisions. Use of CountryTaxCalc does not create any advisor-client relationship.
Spot an incorrect bracket, a missing country, or have a question about methodology? I read every email, usually within 48 hours.
